TM1 Systems Accountant

16 month Fixed Term Contract

Salary £60,000 – £70,000 per annum

Are you a seasoned professional in the realm of financial systems, specifically skilled in IBM Cognos Planning Analytics/TM1?

We are currently seeking a Systems Accountant for our client, to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in these areas, taking charge of the administration, maintenance, and development of Cognos applications, TM1 models, and BI reports. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the strategic road map and execution of key milestones, ensuring the efficiency and optimisation of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as an administrator and developer for Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics (BI), overseeing the system roadmap and delivering crucial milestones.
• Execute maintenance tasks for Cognos data structures, TI processes, and reports, including user license allocation, end-user security, system backups, chart of accounts updates, TM1 slices, and Cognos Analytics Report Studio reports.
• Support Finance team users with Cognos data loads, TM1 Web input form updates, and maintenance of TM1 slices (e.g., management accounts and forecast packs) as required.
• Provide Business as Usual (BAU) systems process cover for the FP&A Analyst, handling tasks such as quarterly forecast rollovers, lockdowns, and month-end balancing checks.
• Manage the annual Cognos license support renewal process, troubleshoot Cognos-related issues, and support the integration of any company acquisitions into existing financial systems.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across all systems and processes within the Finance team, and represent the Finance team in business-wide change projects.

Requirements: Essential:

• Experience as an admin/developer in IBM Cognos Planning Analytics/TM1 and Cognos Analytics/BI, including proficiency with complex rules, feeders, and turbo integrator processes.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, demonstrating competence with various formulae and modeling techniques.

Desirable:

• Experience developing Cognos Workspace dashboards/reports.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases, with the ability to read and write basic/intermediate SQL code.
• Experience maintaining MS Excel VBA macros.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA, or qualified by experience.
• Change management/project delivery experience.
