Our client is a leading retail company based in Los Angeles. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a talented and experienced Controller with NetSuite expertise to join their team.

Position Overview: The Controller with NetSuite Experience will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and analysis utilizing the NetSuite platform. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while providing strategic insights to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. NetSuite Implementation and Optimization:

   • Lead the implementation and configuration of NetSuite financial modules to meet the company’s needs.
   • Customize and optimize NetSuite workflows, reports, and dashboards to streamline financial processes.
   • Serve as the primary point of contact for NetSuite support and troubleshooting, collaborating with IT and external consultants as needed.

2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

   • Generate accurate and timely financial reports using NetSuite, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
   • Perform variance analysis and provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making processes.
   • Develop ad-hoc reports and analysis as requested by senior management to address specific business needs.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

   • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts within NetSuite.
   • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management on variances and trends.
   • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue optimization based on financial analysis.

4. Cash Flow Management:

   • Manage cash flow projections and liquidity analysis within NetSuite to optimize cash resources.
   • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
   • Implement cash management strategies to minimize working capital requirements and maximize returns on surplus funds.

5. Compliance and Risk Management:

   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls within NetSuite.
   • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews of financial data.
   • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive risk management strategies.

6. Team Leadership and Development:

   • Supervise and mentor finance department staff, providing guidance on NetSuite usage and best practices.
   • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment focused on continuous improvement.
   • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with significant experience using NetSuite.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in NetSuite financial modules and reporting functionalities.
