Position Responsibilities:
- Financial System Overhaul: Spearhead the upgrade to NetSuite, ensuring our financial infrastructure supports and drives the company’s ambitious growth plans. This includes managing month-end closings, accurate data migration, and detailed financial tracking across various channels and categories.
- Financial Reporting Excellence: Generate precise financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, adhering to GAAP standards, and serving the needs of external partners including CPA firms and financial institutions.
- Operational Financial Management: Supervise everyday accounting practices, from accounts payable and receivable to journal entries and reconciliations, focusing on streamlining and refining these processes for maximum efficiency.
- Record Keeping: Maintain thorough and organized financial records to support transparency and accessibility for audits, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
- Strategic Budgeting and Forecasting: In collaboration with the FP&A team, enhance budgeting and forecasting practices to aid in strategic planning and minimize variances, providing valuable insights for management and external investors.
- Compliance and Audit Liaison: Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring the company meets regulatory standards and supports a robust internal control environment to safeguard financial integrity.
- Tax Strategy and Compliance: Work with tax advisors to ensure timely tax filings and adapt to legislative changes affecting the industry, with a keen eye on international trade implications.
- Inventory Strategy and Management: Oversee inventory valuation and management, seeking strategic ways to optimize costs related to storage, shipping, and logistics.
- Collaborative Leadership: Engage with various departments including Finance, Operations, and Executive Management to deliver financial insights and drive company-wide initiatives, promoting a team-oriented culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with CPA certification mandatory.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates from the fashion and apparel industry.
- Mandatory experience with NetSuite; familiarity with transitioning from QuickBooks is highly valued.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
- Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Effective communication abilities and leadership in high-paced environments.
- Experience with external audits and tax advisory collaborations preferred.
