Job Title: Business Intelligence Systems Manager
Fixed Term Contract 8 months – Salary up to £57,000
Main Purpose of the Role:
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and other business units to develop, deliver, and support Data, BI, and Analytics solutions. Your insights will be crucial for managing the business’s performance, with a strong focus on budgeting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage: Oversee a small team responsible for data analytics and BI tools, primarily IBM Cognos Analytics.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support and manage the company’s budgeting tools, mainly IBM Planning Analytics.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand and meet their requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Provide leadership in data visualisation and self-serve reporting.
- Training: Train business users on BI systems.
- Report Management: Develop, test, and maintain reports from our data warehouse.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Bridge between Finance, Data, Publishing Systems (Biblio3), and the business.
- Vendor Coordination: Work with third-party vendors to ensure systems are up-to-date.
- Data Provider Coordination: Ensure efficient and timely reporting with data providers.
- Issue Resolution: Manage BAU tickets related to BI systems, ensuring consistent and efficient issue resolution.
Person Specification:
- Experience: Proven industry experience in data engineering, business intelligence, and data discovery.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of working with senior management and responding to user queries.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with IBM Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics or similar BI software.
- Finance Knowledge: Experience with Finance systems and terminology.
