R2R Reporting Consultant / Finance Process Lead

Manchester (3x a week on-site)

£500 per day (outside of IR35)

SystemsAccountants are currently seeking an experienced R2R Finance Process Lead to join our client and drive the optimisation of their SAP Business ByDesign ERP implementation with a particular focus on the Record to Report processes. They are looking someone to deliver a complete overhaul of their reporting capacity. The successful candidate will have expertise in overseeing and managing projects, implementing process improvement initiatives, and driving activities related to operations and strategy. They will likely have previous experience as one of the following: Reporting Consultant, Reporting Manager, Finance Process Lead, or Business Process Owner.

Role Responsibilities

• Take ownership of driving the Record to Report strategy, driving process optimisation and automation
• Analyse end-to-end R2R processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and automation
• Improve the Record to Report project lifecycle, defining and implementing standard methodologies for end-to-end R2R operations
• Assess the current state of R2R activity and perform a gap analysis to recommend and implement changes
• Manage the R2R remediation and transition activity
• R2R process improvement and integration work
• Conduct a readiness assessment, enhancements, and gap assessment
• Define process landscape and document processes
• Ensure adherence to finance policies and control framework
• Ensure financial processes align with stakeholders and are fit for purpose.
• Overhaul reporting processes, to ensure that the ERP system set-up is accessible for all end users

Role Requirements

• Must be a qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACMA, ACA) with several years of experience in Finance Systems
• Experience of SAP Business ByDesign a strong advantage, or experience in SAP S/4HANA, or SAP ECC.
• Experience in supporting international Finance Transformation programmes from an R2R perspective.
• Previous responsibility owning the R2R Process within a SAP/ERP transformation
• Proven R2R background, particularly in large multinational and complex business environments
• Experience leading SAP R2R in end to end design implementation programmes
• Previous experience driving transformation and supporting Finance Transformation programmes
• Able to define and communicate the vision and strategic direction for the R2R process within the context of the ERP transformation
• Must have strong Finance workstream knowledge
• Blend of hands on functional expertise, decision making capabilities, and finance knowledge
• Experience in the professional services industry a plus
• Familiarity with Procure to Pay software and integrating this with SAP
