In celebration of International Women’s Day, I’d like to share my journey and experiences within the field of finance systems recruitment.
Like many professionals in this industry, I found my way into recruitment by chance. After graduating from the University of Exeter, I was unsure about my career path. A position became available at SystemsAccountants as a Recruitment Consultant, and I joined, unaware of how significantly it would shape my career. I quickly discovered my passion for connecting the motivations of candidates with the needs of clients. I also enjoyed the challenge of learning about diverse technologies and the satisfaction of matching the right talent with their ideal roles. An added bonus was the opportunity to build my own brand within the finance systems market and establish myself as the go-to expert for particular skill sets and roles.
Eleven years later, I am proud to be the Director of the Finance Systems and ERP Practice. In this role, I manage a team of five exceptional individuals and continue to recruit in dynamic technology sectors.
In 2023, my life changed when I became a mother. Balancing work and motherhood has presented its challenges, but I am incredibly fortunate to work for a company that upholds strong family values and supports a healthy work-life balance. It is very important to me that my daughter sees me as a positive role model and understands that with dedication, she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.
I am immensely grateful to SystemsAccountants for the opportunities they’ve provided, enabling my personal and professional growth. One of the greatest privileges has been the opportunity to mentor and empower other women, helping them realise that if I can achieve this success, they certainly can too.
