Aviva is the largest general insurance provider in the UK and one of the leading life and pensions companies. Aviva’s main activities are the provision of general and life insurance, long-term savings products and fund management services. The group has around 27,700 employees, 31 million customers and Aviva Investors has £241 billion assets under management.

The solution:

Over a six-year period, SystemsAccountants provided over 30 resources to shape, initiate and deliver a range of finance change and finance systems projects. This included a discrete team of permanent and contract consultants to support the implementation of an IFRS-compliant chart of accounts, an SAP BFC group reporting system and a Business Objects MI solution. We also provided a team of contract business analysts to migrate the finance systems of a newly acquired subsidiary onto the Group’s Oracle platform. Resource provided mixed finance process skills with awareness of Oracle e-Business functionality allowing the re-definition of processes, solution design and off-shoring of transactional finance processes.

The outcome:

We were further retained by the Global Head of IT Delivery to recruit a Head of Data Governance & BI for their Solvency II programme, together with a BI Delivery Manager and two Actuarial Systems & Risk Analysts.
