King Digital Entertainment plc (King) is a leading interactive entertainment company and mobile games developer, with more than 190 titles in over 200 countries. Their hits include Candy Crush Saga, Farm Heroes Saga, Papa Pear Saga, Pet Rescue Saga and Bubble Witch Saga. The largest game developer on Facebook they have 345 million average monthly unique users and revenues of over $1.8bn.

SystemsAccountants had already been working with King for a few years when they completed an IPO, taking the company turnover from $65m to over $7bn.

The solution

Over the last few years of transformative growth, SystemsAccountants has placed three finance systems professionals on a permanent basis and provided three interim consultants. These have included an Interim Business Intelligence & Finance Systems Program Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of business systems projects.

The outcome:

Initially our PM led the implementation of a single ledger system across the UK, Sweden, Spain and Malta based on Sage ERP 300. They then went on to scope, shape and deliver a group consolidation, reporting, analysis and planning solution on IBM Cognos TM1, and sourced and implemented a group-wide employee expense and travel solution – Concur. We have also provided two TM1 Developers and an Interim Systems Accountant to deliver enhancements to King’s GL application, prior to an ERP programme being initiated to upgrade King’s core business systems and re-platform the business to align with its growth.
