Swiss Re is one of the world’s largest and most diversified reinsurers. SystemsAccountants has provided finance transformation resource to the Swiss Re group for nearly ten years.
The challenge:
SystemsAccountants was mandated to source a Project Director, Project Manager & PMO Manager to lead the design and delivery of a new data warehouse and financial close engine. The overall goal of this programme is to develop a common set of integrated systems, tools and processes for Finance and Corporate Actuarial in Swiss Re’s Global Life and Health business. The scope incorporates a streamed replacement and roll-out of the financial estimation, closing and projections systems and processes. It also adjusts the timing of Corporate Actuarial reserving and model updates to increase efficiency.
The outcome:
Over a two year period, SystemsAccountants was retained to mobilise a team of interims and permanent staff to support the design and implementation of a Finance Target Operating Model for Swiss Re’s closed, in force life insurance business, Admin Re. This included the appointment of a Director of Finance Systems and a team of Oracle eBusiness, GL, finance process architects, business analysts and finance reporting consultants to support the implementation of Oracle and the creation of new end to end finance processes.
