Controller
Job Overview:
A well-established company in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, managing financial planning, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives. The Controller will oversee internal controls, financial policies, and asset management, playing a key role in driving financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce accounting policies, fiscal controls, and procedures to safeguard company assets, including fixed assets, inventory, and cash management.
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee month-end close processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Lead budgeting and financial planning efforts to support business objectives.
- Manage key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Oversee technical accounting standards and policy changes, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and minimize risk.
- Coordinate and ensure a smooth year-end audit process with external auditors.
- Oversee cash management operations, including daily cash administration and banking relationships.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the company’s financial operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years of management experience, leading accounting teams.
- Proficiency in Excel and integrated business systems.
- Strong background in cost accounting preferred.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
