Contract Controller (Part-Time – SaaS / Healthcare Tech)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
Schedule: ~20 hours per week
Hourly Rate: Up to $115/hour
Industry: SaaS / Healthcare Technology
Contract Length: Initial 6 months, with potential to extend
About the Role:
Our client, a private equity-backed SaaS company in the healthcare technology space, is seeking a part-time Contract Controller to support their growing finance function and upcoming NetSuite implementation. The role is critical to daily accounting operations and will serve as a bridge between the current QuickBooks environment and future state in NetSuite.
This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role that requires someone who can lead close processes, own audit prep, and drive day-to-day accounting tasks, while helping to set up scalable processes for a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage month-end close and day-to-day accounting operations in a multi-entity QuickBooks desktop environment
- Serve as audit liaison, managing external audits and ensuring compliance with US GAAP
- Support the transition to NetSuite, assisting in data migration, process mapping, and configuration decisions
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, revenue recognition (ASC 606) compliance, and proper cutoffs
- Assist in refining accounting policies, processes, and controls to support scale
- Collaborate closely with a lean internal team (3-person corporate accounting team) and external consultants
- Provide reporting and ad hoc support to executive leadership and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as Controller or senior accounting leader at a PE or VC-backed software/services firm
- Demonstrated ability to lead audits with Big 4 or super-regional firms (e.g., RSM, BDO, Grant Thornton)
- Deep understanding of revenue recognition (ASC 606), especially in SaaS or project-based services models
- Hands-on accounting experience—this is not just a review role; we need someone who can do the work
- Strong experience with QuickBooks desktop (multi-entity experience strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting or participating in an ERP implementation (NetSuite ideal)
- Proactive, persistent, and highly organized—able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- CPA preferred but not required
If you're a highly capable and execution-oriented Controller who enjoys working with high-growth SaaS companies and supporting system transformations, we’d love to hear from you.
