ERP Business Analyst (Finance)
Birmingham City Centre (hybrid 2 days per week in the office)
18-month fixed-term contract
Salary up to £70,000 (per annum)
Our client is a well-established, niche professional service firm with offices across 3 continents. They have recently embarked upon a project to replace their legacy ERP system with a new Cloud-native solution and will be implementing this in 3 phases over the next 3 years.
In order to support the project, they now require an experienced Finance Business Analyst to join their team of both internal and external SME’s.
The role is initially being offered on an 18-month fixed term contract basis meaning that you will benefit from 25 days annual leave and pension contributions. The client will also be offering a generous retention bonus for completion of the initial 18-month period.
Key responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive process mapping sessions with finance teams to document existing workflows, systems, and data flows.
* Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation within current processes.
* Develop detailed process maps, diagrams, and flowcharts to visualize the “as-is” state of financial operations.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to capture business needs and system requirements.
* Translate business requirements into functional specifications for the new finance system.
* Ensure that all requirements align with financial reporting, compliance, and audit requirements.
* Perform gap analysis between current processes and the desired future state after system implementation.
* Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that recommended changes are feasible and sustainable.
* Prepare comprehensive documentation, including business process models, user stories, and system requirements.
* Facilitate workshops and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Skills and experience required:
* ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent certification is essential for this role.
* A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
* Strong understanding of finance and accounting systems, including ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and financial reporting tools.
* Experience with process mapping and analysis tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS, or similar).
* Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or MS Project, with the ability to track and report on project progress.
* Hands-on experience in system implementations, upgrades, data migration, and system integration in a financial environment.
* Proven experience working on finance systems implementation or transformation projects, preferably in a business analyst role.
* Demonstrated experience in analysing, improving, and reengineering finance processes, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and control.
* Deep understanding of financial and tax regulations, audit requirements, and compliance considerations, ensuring that the new system aligns with these needs.
* Experience in leading or contributing to change management initiatives, training, and user adoption strategies during system implementations.
