ERP Project Manager
FTC – up to 3 years
Birmingham (1-2 days per week in the office)
To £80k plus full benefits package
Our client is niche professional services firm with offices in the UK, North America and Asia.
They will shortly be embarking on a project to replace their existing on-premise ERP with a Cloud solution. This will be implemented in three phases, with an estimated go-live for the final phase in circa 36 months. To support the project, they are now looking to appoint an experienced project manager to lead the end-to-end deployment of their ERP system.
The ERP Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and facilitate seamless collaboration between stakeholders and technical teams. The primary objective is to optimize processes, enhance organizational efficiency, and successfully deliver the ERP project within budget and on schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
- Monitor and manage project progress to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication of goals, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input, provide updates, and address concerns.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Proactively address issues, escalating when necessary to maintain project momentum.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to support user adoption of the ERP system.
- Provide regular status updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including decisions, changes, and lessons learned.
- Oversee the transition to BAU support team.
Essential experience and qualifications required:
- Certification in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting systems, including ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and financial reporting tools.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or MS Project, with the ability to track and report on project progress.
- Proven track record of managing full lifecycle ERP implementation projects from initiation to post-implementation support in a Project Manager Role
- Experience in leading or contributing to change management initiatives, training, and user adoption strategies during system implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and risks in complex, large-scale projects
Desirable
- A Chartered accountancy qualification (ACA, ACMA or ACCA)
- Previous experience or working within a professional services firm (Accountancy, Law etc.)
- Experience of D365 Business Central
