Introduction to the Position
Our client, a fast-growing company in Mannheim, is seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to lead their accounting team and drive strategic financial operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions while leading an ERP implementation, building a centralized service centre, and managing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities. You will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of the company, supporting operational improvements, and ensuring the successful integration of systems and processes across the organization. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an accomplished finance professional looking to make an impact at a company poised for growth.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day accounting operations
• Oversee the implementation of a new ERP system, driving process optimization and system integration
• Build and develop a centralized service centre to streamline accounting and financial operations
• Manage and support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration, and reporting
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts, providing strategic financial insights to senior management
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks
• Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment

Desired Qualifications

• Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken)
• Proven experience in accounting leadership, with expertise in managing teams and large-scale projects
• Strong experience in ERP implementation, ideally with exposure to NetSuite or similar systems
• Background in mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on financial due diligence and integration
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and local accounting standards
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing teams
• A background in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
• CPA, ACA, or equivalent qualifications are a plus
