Quality Assurance Expert – IBM Planning Analytics (Cognos TM1)
Role and Context:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the IBM Planning Analytics platform within the group as the company undergoes significant transformation across their EPM and BI stack. You will combine strong analytical capabilities with the ability to partner with the business, conducting thorough testing, and quality assurance processes to support application integrity.
This role plays a pivotal part in the overall team, working together with the Architect to challenge the strategy for IBM Planning Analytics going forward and ensure the solutions built actually deliver on what was promised and planned.
The role will form part of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) team where you will be working with a highly international group of colleagues on key IT Finance topics for the group. With significant investment into their EPM and BI landscape, this is a very interesting client to join as the team continues to scale with an increasing demand from the business to ensure high-quality standards.
What will I be doing?
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for IBM Planning Analytics applications.
- Be the thought leader on testing strategy for the EPM and BI team.
- Report and escalate issues to the department head and Architect.
- Conduct continual improvement assessments and complete any change requests to enhance application performance.
- Work with the head of department and the Architect for product strategy
- Establish best practices related to IBM Planning Analytics testing and quality assurance processes.
What profile will I require?
- 6+ years of experience working with IBM Planning Analytics or related EPM tools.
- University degree in IT, Finance, or a related field.
- Must have a strong background in quality assurance and testing methodologies for Cognos TM1/IBM Planning Analytics.
- Capable of leading test strategy and not just execution of tests.
- International experience in a dispersed global team environment.
- Any additional skills in automated testing tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
- Naturally detail-oriented and always looking to improve.
- Must have fluent English language skills.
