Job Title: Senior Accounting Lead
Location: Remote, United States
Salary: Up to $95,000 annually, with potential for promotion to Director-level within a few years.
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant Lead to manage the accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial information for our diverse business entities. This role will focus on overseeing the preparation of financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and managing the period-end close process. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and experience in franchise revenue recognition.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize the financial period-end close process.
- Prepare and review internal financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and detailed expense reports.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data and account reconciliations.
- Provide analytical support and financial insights to executive team members.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and auditing functions.
- Streamline accounting processes and support the integration of new financial systems, such as NetSuite.
- Collaborate on various audit activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- CPA certification or equivalent with a strong background in public accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting role, with at least 2 years focused on CPA/public accounting.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and specific expertise in ASC 606.
- Prior experience with financial systems implementations, with a preference for candidates proficient in NetSuite.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of managing a team and fostering professional growth.
