SAP ByDesign Systems Accountant

£50,000 – £70,000 per annum

London (hybrid, 2x a week in office)

SystemsAccountants are currently working on behalf of a SAP ByDesign end-user based in London to source a SAP ByDesign Systems Manager wwith strong accounting knowledge to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting and optimizing the SAP ByDesign ERP system while ensuring seamless financial processes across the organisation. You will be the go-to person for SAP ByDesign-related queries, providing technical support and insights to improve system usage. Additionally, you will participate in future system-related projects, working closely with different departments to drive efficiency and automation.

Role Responsibilities:

• Act as the Super User for SAP ByDesign, providing day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and user training to ensure effective system usage.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to enhance financial processes and ensure data integrity across all SAP ByDesign modules.
• In conjunction with the business, design a suite of management information.
• Maintain and optimise SAP ByDesign workflows, ensuring alignment with business needs and financial reporting requirements.
• Lead or support system-related projects, including upgrades, customizations, and implementations of new SAP ByDesign features.
• Design, implement, and improve key business processes within SAP ByDesign, focusing on accounting, inventory, procurement, and other business areas.
• Provide financial data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting support using SAP ByDesign.
• Create and maintain user documentation and training materials.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (finance, HR, IT) to support process improvements and system enhancements.
• Monitor and manage system issues, coordinate with IT teams, and escalate where necessary to resolve technical challenges.
• Stay updated with new SAP ByDesign functionalities and provide recommendations for system improvements or new modules that can enhance business operations.

Role Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with SAP ByDesign in a super user or similar capacity.
• Strong accounting background; qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience with system implementation, upgrades, and project management.
• Ability to provide training and technical support to end-users across various departments.
• Strong understanding of business processes related to accounting, procurement, and inventory management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Experience with data migration and report generation in SAP ByDesign is a plus.

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience in project management or participation in system-related projects.
• Understanding of other modules within SAP ByDesign such as HR, and CRM.
• Experience in a multi-company or multi-country environment.
• Familiarity with automation tools and integration with third-party systems.
