A Cognos TM1 Administrator is a professional responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimisation of IBM Cognos TM1, a performance management and business intelligence software solution. Their role is critical in ensuring that the TM1 system operates efficiently, securely, and effectively to support an organisation’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.
Cognos TM1 Administrators play a vital role in ensuring the stability and reliability of the Cognos TM1 environment, enabling organisations to make informed financial decisions and drive business success. Their responsibilities encompass a range of technical, security, and maintenance tasks to keep the system operating at its best. Cognos TM1 Administrators are also responsible for keeping the system up to date and ensuring that users are trained in its use.
They should be able to provide technical support and guidance to users and identify any problems or issues that arise. They need to be able to work independently and as part of a team and be able to manage multiple projects at once.
Cognos TM1 Systems Administrators must therefore have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to work under pressure, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong technical knowledge of Cognos TM1, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Experience with Cognos TM1 EPM or related software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to design and maintain system customisations and integrations
Familiarity with SQL queries, scripting, and other development tools
Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills
Understanding of accounting and financial concepts and principles
